Would you agree that Trucking, despite being a tough job, is actually very underrated and rewarding

Generally no. From what I've seen the work / life balance is terrible and electronic devices for social media with friends back home only offset this a little when you fit in time for them on the 10hr break.
I personally find that having an industry with a 70hr work week as the norm is a bit ridiculous. It's probably often more than 70hrs if you include Off The Log activity like doing paperwork or trip planning.
I think drivers should have access to more off time, more paid vacation time, or much higher pay for those that stay out for weeks or months.
There may be exceptions with a few niche gigs for those that stick with it for enough experience to qualify for them. -
To the op, this isn't a job, it is a profession and it sucks because people think it is a job.

If you work at this and take it seriously, which many do, then it isn't a job.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Minus the cell part.
My cell was working around the same table all day long and catering to crazy people and their dogs.
I love my pets, but some people are just nuts.Last edited: May 25, 2018
