Looking into a 2016 International with ISX that is clocking at 900K miles. I am guessing the good thing is it didn't idle much to put on those kind of miles. Yay or nay?

I've got some land in Florida you may also be interested in, btw, bring your hip waders. Sounds like the worst combination you could ask for a truck. A team fleet truck with a million miles, what's the worst that could happen? Sorry, but there are so many nice O/O trucks for sale, go that route.

    86scotty and Cabinover101 Thank this.

Nearly 1 million miles in at most 4 years, did they even stop for maintenance?

Fleet trucks get the absolute minimum of maintenance and still stay within the warranty.
There's a reason the megas sell off their equipment and it's usually because they've reached a point where it's going to start costing them money in repairs.
A fleet team truck with almost a million miles? Unless all the major components and most of the minor ones have been replaced I'd be afraid of it.

A small part of me would like to run and wrench on a truck like that just to add to my reportoire. Much of an old trucks gremlins come from age, not miles. Has the wire harness gotten brittle from two decades of hot and cold. Has 2 decades of humidity corroded the ECM pins and circuit boards and relay iron cores? Age takes its toll on all rubbers and plastics, on hoses, fluids etc. So theres a lot of stuff that this truck wont yet suffer from.

But the miles takes its toll on bearings, cams, valve seats and rings, rod bolts and headbolts, all the sliding clutches in the trans and the ring/pinion etc etc.

Im on the fence. ISX doesnt thrill me no matter how many miles. Otherwise condition and price would determine.

No stack of records but price is at $19k.

Where are these nicely maintained oo trucks? And no am not looking to drop 100k plus on a used peterbilt. Most trucks on sale are fleet trucks
Lol same thing I was thinking
That's what I was thinking. It's pretty new truck...worst is I rebuild the motor. Every thing else should be ok

    Rideandrepair and bzinger Thank this.

Ya but most fleet trucks are sold around 500k miles and that's prob when most of the issues start to show up...at 900K miles it should be sorted out unless the engine needs to be rebuilt

    bzinger Thanks this.
