Hey Paddletrucker, if the gentleman doing the extracurricular activity's was caught with that much groceries believe me the LEO's would,I'm sure, been thru every thing the guy owns. There's the RICO Act that allows the law to confiscate every possesion you have because it was purchased with ill gotten funds. It doesn't matter how well you try and hide it. Like registering it to your 3rd cousin from Armpit,Alaska, the LEO's can be dumb but they are not stupid. I'm certainly not F. Lee Bailey but I would say with the loose panels and the hanging headliner they already did thier "Pre Trip Inpection". So,if the guy is in "college" and the price is right, I would really jump on the deal. Yours Truly, Previous Owner- Danbury Federal Prison![]()
Would you buy a tractor from this guy??

After driving the truck again, taking a good look at the price, talking to some federal cops my wife put me in touch with who agreed to do a pretty good look over the truck, and thinking about it, I went to the bank to take the money out. I figured I'd test drive it one last time over to the building where my wife works to have it looked over by the feds, then if all was well, go back and pay the guy for it.
Upon arriving at the house where the truck was, it wasn't there. Neither was the man's son who had shown me the truck and who I had been dealing with. Some other farm equipment, two pickup trucks, and some tractors and trailers were gone, too. His mother, wife of the drug trafficking truck owner, was the only one there.
Seems the son is also now in county jail, waiting on a court date for.....you guessed it, possession with intent to distribute.
Taken by "the man" was a 53 foot spread axle reefer trailer, a 48 foot spread axle reefer trailer, a 2002 Pete 379, a Pete 387, and one low miles, 2005 Western Star.
The mom wasn't sure (or didn't want to tell me) who "the man" was. She said she thought it was the finance company AND the cops. A neighbor said it was a guy to whom some gambling debts were owed. Who knows what might have been going on, I know that I don't know, but I'm glad I didn't give that guy's son any cash!!!!!
Maybe for once my worrying paid off?? After, I got back home, I called a local cop I know who is working dispatch right now on medical leave. He looked the truck up again for me and said he wasn't sure but it looked like there may have been a problem with the title, too. Good grief.
I guess now, though, I am kinda huntin' a Star. I really did like that silly truck, so I'll add it to the list of possibilities.
Thanks to all who replied. Guess it just wasn't in the cards. -

I thought you and MeatHead were both right. I figured I was worrying too much. I thought that if the truck was going to be taken, it would have already been taken, not after the fact. Guess I was wrong. AND, you may have been right. I am not sure it was the law that took his stuff, but it was gone. I just hit reply with quote on the last post is all.
I appreciate your response, even though I didn't acknowledge it. Sorry.supdty93 Thanks this. -
If you really want a STAR, why don't you go to a dealer & look around. You may find one that you like.
