Because the International Transtar 8600 w/ extended cab is the perfect truck to me. If it had an ISX option, there would be no discussion...

Personally no. Depending on what your hauling your reputation can be severely tarnished if you are labeled as not dependable. Even if a company would produce such a contract to defer payment it still wouldn't help unless they would supply a rental truck. However some people can't rent a truck, if your doing something special that requires special equipment there are no rentals for you. I would let the fleets play test trucker, I would buy what seems to work the best for others in the same line of work. As much as I hate the ISX at least if you do get tired of the downtime you can have it fixed once by someone like PDI and eliminate the headaches, with the Maxxforce your screwed.

Good point! I somehow forgot to mention the rental truck in my "what if" situation. True, if you have any sort of special equipment, you'd still be screwed...

If you're going to disrespect someone, at least use your browsers spell-check feature. I corrected your post for you.

    "Your" stands for ownership.
"You're" is short for (You are) which you were supposed to use in that sentence.

Rite? As in (You're correct?) Should be spelled R-I-G-H-T also meaning the opposite of left.

    Back to your fist-pumping...

I'd honestly go with a new KW or Pete with the Cummins engine. To the op: The intl is a great truck, but why not a slightly used KW or Pete with the small sleeper??

I'm not a KW or Pete kinda guy. Nothing against them. They're just not "me."
Much like trying to get the "Harley for life guy" to ride the newest Hondawasakimahazuki cruiser.

I guess it's because I spent 2 years driving a 2005 8600 daycab and fell in love with the interior. The dash, seats, windshield, steering wheel, gauge placement were all very comfortable to me.
I'm not a leather, chrome gauge bezel, woodgrain kinda guy...

The 26" sleeper is just enough to log sleeper berth time without taking away from it's awesome BBC and turning radius.

I just wish they'd give up the EGR dream and go Urea and stop trying to be so different under the hood!

I respect your opinion. i usually unload next to them at my destinations must say those trucks are very maneuverable. I also wish Intl would move on to DEF as it would save them more headaches than the ones the existing headaches dealers and owners currently have.

The biggest thing right now for the 2010 maxxforce bigbore's is if you had one of the first releases is to make sure the updates have been done. The updates and the latest software revisions did solve alot of the issues that you guys have heard about. The 2010 has changed alot from the 07 engine. Navistar has been listing and working on fixing the issues on both model year engines. I have currently 200+ 2010 emmission 13 liters running in 3 fleets right now and they have been doing well so far, 7 mpg range, and unit downtime is low after we fixed a lot of the issues. Right now every engine OEM is having their fair share of issues. I work at a dual dealership (peterbilt and international) so I get to see both sides of the spectrum.
