Even if things get more sane in California, I have no business running there anymore. Nothing west of I-25 appeals to me anymore. I have gotten my operation inside of a 600 mile radius of the house and have no desire to change. California is on their own.

Hood length has little to do with it, unless you make it a habit to drive with the hood open.. Look at all the square corners and 90-degree angles on the 379. On the 389, almost all of them have been rounded off. Peterbilt itself even brags about "a series of aerodynamic enhancements".

Nobody is claiming it's as aerodynamic as, say, the 387 or other trucks designed that way from scratch, but that was nevertheless one of Peterbilt's major goals with the model change.

    Read for yourself: http://www.peterbilt.com/trad389.1.aspx

That new transtar looks #### good though! I can see why you would want one. :)

Are you absolutely sure about that?

As for the Maxforce, well we have two of the newer prostars with the maxforce 13s in them. I got to spend some time in one of them because the driver that got it ended up sick with Cancer and could not drive. He just passed away last week. Very good friend.

Anyway we have not had as many problems with the two maxforce 13s so far. Actually they have spent alot less time in the shop then our new Cats and ISX motored trucks. The power is not all that bad, well anything is better then the bridged cat that I am running. The trucks are super quiet to the point that I found it hard to drive since I rely on engine sound for shifting rather then looking at the tack.

Did not really care for the layout in the cab. The shifter was a little too far away for my liking, compaird to the 379 I usually drive. Did not really care for the cup holder design as they are the only holders that I have found that my cup will not fit in properly. Although the cab is roomy, I perfer the smaller cabs of the 379 style and the W900 style etc due to that I like to use the pass seat for putting things on that I might need during the day. The larger cabs put the pass seat too far away to easily reach things that I might want to put on it. Mainly my clipboard with my paper work. I hate crap on the dash.

As far as the Harley, going off topic a bit, look at a slightly used Electraglide classic. slightly longer shocks give it a much better ride plus it has more options. Can be easily stripped down for the streetglide look yet you still have the stuff for when you might need it. My ride is an 05 electraglide with an 88 (soon to be a 95) it currently has andrews 26 cams in it, an SE pro tuner, SE stage 1 aircleaner and the older SE slipons that actually helped power and added a nice rumble. It also has the lowers on it that I really like. I removed the tour pack and installed a pass backrest and rack and swapped out the seat for a sundowner to a slightly sleeker look over the big touring seat.

Don't confuse the Prostar and the Transtar. 2 different trucks...
