Would you give away a shower?

    I was in Laredo at the fj and there was a guy asking for showers. He appeared homeless and could barely speak,(I think there was some dementia goin on) but it was clear he wanted a shower. Nobody gave him the time of day though. One driver finally offered to sell him one for five bucks.

    Would you give away a shower credit in a similar situation? I didn't but I feel a little bad about it now.

    All the time.....allways have extra showers especially when weights tight or dropping reefers kinda cold to sell em

    There have been other links on here about showers before and the worst problem I heard was a driver gave one away I think at a TA, and the person stole the shower head. The station charged him for the missing part. I think these postings were mostly another driver vs a homeless person.

    I've done it many times. I don't sell them, just give them away if the person looks needy.

    I give them away. One guy did steal the towels and Pilot called me and asked about it. They didn't charge me. The lady did say I shouldn't give away shower credits because of this.
    Translation= Hey! We get $10 for a shower. Stop giving them away. Lol

    yes i have, especially working local i have no need for them. when i walk up to the kiosk to get my receipt i've been asked before.no problem.

    I agree. If I see a homeless person & I really feel he is homeless... not just pretending to be... I will usually give them sweet bread or something from my snack sack etc. I normaly don't give money though.
    But to answer the question, absolutely. If I really believe he is homeless & he needs a shower, by all means I would give him a shower. If I didn't have an extra shower to give, I'd buy him a shower.

    And just to add to it, my wife works for a local homeless/battered women's organization... so yep.

    I've done it a lot. I given them to other drivers and homeless people. I am rarely ever out for more than am overnight trip anymore so why not. At least someone can get some use out of them.
