mercer you will have to.do.more "running where the freight takes ya" since the volume isnt what sni has. but it pays better. sni has enoug freight to where you can say "i want to go to PA today" and you can do it. just may not pay worth a darn but you can get there. i liked that part. i didnt like th hand holding mentality of the co, the cheap fuel discounts and thr cheap fsc. i dont like having to take a new road test every year after 20yrs driving. and every time i walked into an operating center and saw the fine sni drivers i wanted to punch myself in the head
Would you leave Landstar if they require you to get eobr?

Bye bye landstar!!
-
from what i have been hearing it seems landstar wants you on the eobr and they are making the requirements to stay off dificult enough that you will end up on it. so if your set on landstar just volunteer and get it free. if not then leave.

Sadly, EOBR's will eventually be mandated. The ATA and the railroad funded public citizen have to much money and influence over FMCSA and congress. Despite the court order, it will eventually go thru. Its sad but, since nobody will come together to stand up for ourselves, we will just continue to get walked on.
Raiderfanatic, EZX1100 and SheepDog Thank this. -
You can leave but I'm afraid the EOBR isssue is going to catch up to you one way or the other in a short period of time ..see article below:
http://www.examiner.com/article/making-a-case-for-trucking-industry-eobr-mandate
I'm sorry, But I don't think this is what you want to hear... -
The only difference with electronic and paper is that it counts down for you and takes some of the paperwork out of things. the time you gain is during pre trips and fueling on duty and things like that. It will save you sometime

eobr eats up too much time and takes away driving. it tells me when i can drive and for how long. then it tells me i need to sleep and how long.
i function better without it.Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
Personally I disagree with the HOS regulations.. But if you want to drive for a living EOBRs is something that all drivers are going to eventually
(most like as of Oct 1,2015) be forced to run by...Thats just a fact of life.. good or bad it is what it is .. -
jess-juju, volvodriver01, Truck609 and 2 others Thank this.
