Wyoming is what it is. Some days are good other can be a real ordeal. Thing is, if you need to get across the state, you need to get across. Going to have to run it. What ever route you need to use to do it. As long as its open run.
One needs to understand that, if you get blown over or other wise get into a bad situation, your going to be at fault, no matter what. The state will not say what constitutes what ever the warning is. They say light vehicles. They have no definition of what that is, but rest assured, you get blown over when that warning is up, you will be cited for that warning. So run the state at your own risk.
    Welcome to trucking.

It's worse when it comes out of my wife's Butte, she spills more gas than the Permian Basin burns off.

D.Tibbitt and MACK E-6 Thank this.

I totally agree. I knew it was stupid and rolled over on that minivan. Prison and guilt.

Nope. Going 70. Still stupid to be driving empty anywhere out west but I need this job.

I stood up to dispatch and said it ain’t happening. Another driver on a twin load is going to run it. It’s not dispatch’s ###. I’ll be late on my pickup and delivery but people are probably happy with what they can get in these strange times.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Thanks to everyone in the forum that reassured me that this was a career killing nonsense demand from a desk jockey.

If you ever have to run south in Wyoming and 25 is bad check what US-85 is like, it's a little bit out of route, but sometimes the wind isn't as bad.

    D.Tibbitt, Farmerbob1 and 40AcreMule Thank this.

Why can’t Wyoming plant windbreaks of pines and cedars along the entirety of I 80?

    D.Tibbitt and JC1971 Thank this.

They've tried in some places as natural snow breaks, the problem is that their best growing trees are lodgepole pines in the places they need something like low growing cedar or fir. Young trees die too ###### easy, and the same goes for bringing in grown transplants.

    D.Tibbitt and 40AcreMule Thank this.
