    Hi Everyone,

Would you guys use a service that allowed you to send an invoice for a freight load right from your web browser? (the website would send customer the invoice by email or fax)

When your customer receives the invoice they see a link to where they can pay. That link sends them to a webpage where they can pay for the load via either Credit Card or direct bank transfer. You would then receive this payment next day for CC and 3-4days later for bank transfer.

    The process flow would go:

You create bill invoice online -> email auto sent to customer -> customer pays you on the website -> you recieve money & can track invoices & payments on the website.

Additionally, how much would you pay (monthly) for such a service. (this is in addition to fees for processing credit card)

How does this process currently work for you guys?

    Any questions/concerns/feedback are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

No I wouldn't personally. Guess I'm old school but I got a file for my invoices, bills etc, etc. And then it's scanned into my computer so if something get's lost I still have it there. I currently have billing done through my factoring company however I have an office worker that handles all my collections so I don't get charged an arm and a leg by my factoring company so it's not a needed service for me per say but I wouldn't use it after my factoring company contract is up either. Like I said I have a file cabinet for my invoices and bills. After the load is deliever it's faxed or scanned back to the office. Office worker types up the inovice and then faxes the invoice, bol, etc. back to the factoring company and off to the customer.

However your idea if it's thought out a little better and with a little more work may attract some people. I have no clue what you could charge for it myself I wouldn't want to pay more than $30/month for something that's new and hasn't been tested but that's me personally. Good luck.

    Thanks for the response.

My guess on pricing would be $20-$30/month. Majority of the site is actually built, I just need to refine based off of feedback. Basically figuring out the best use-case for this.

I would not. I have to enter load data into my spreadsheets anyway and my invoices are automatically generated by entering the invoice number. pretty simple for me to attach the .pdf and email it. Actually easier than uploading to a website.

What I WOULD like is if brokers would start using paypal, seems like it would be easier all the way around. Recieve an invoice, pay to that email address, done, easy. But direct deposit is okay, it's just safer for me to give you my paypal email address than my routing and account number or voided check.

Danny, what if the broker could pay you through your own 'custom website' like this:

    dannythetrucker.freightpaysite.com

This would be a secure customized webpage where the broker could enter either their credit card # or bank information to pay you directly.

^ this is more of the purpose of my site than an invoicing solution. The invoice is more a way to send the broker/customer your personalized link.

hkronick, that sounds interesting. But I should tell you that usually it's the broker who sets the terms for payment and not me. Some accept bills by email or fax, some want it sent by transflo, some still require original paper documents by mail. Maybe you'd be better off marketing this to brokers somehow ?

I wish I could make the brokers do things my way, but sadly I cannot !
