If there was ever a reason to have an APU, the photos explain it all. It can be outright dangerous not having an APU.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

For some reason I've never felt comfortable sleeping with my windows cracked.
    I hope I haven't ruined anyone's nap.

We got APUs in our trucks and I have to admit, I've become spoiled. That said, it's very cool in PA today so the temp is perfect. I don't need to idle or run the APU in these conditions. In the winter time, there are nights where I will cut it off. I'm hot natured so the cold really dont bother me til it dips to 30.

    Normally I get 7.5 mpg that's with let's say 9% idle time.
    Idling 24/7 I get 5.3 mpg.

At 11000 miles a month I come up with $1500 difference. Add in repairs and you will be in the $3-4000 range.

Let's say you have a small fleet of 10 trucks. You are losing $30-40000 a month due to idling.

If you’re idling enough to burn an extra 600 gallons of fuel a month you could get your dpf cleaned every month and be well under your repair estimates.
