I think "love" was sarcastic.
The sex of the human operating the vehicle has no bearing on the ability no matter what the actual ratio of good/experienced to bad or beginning drivers of each sex.

I will always try to help someone next to me if they're struggling

I'm afraid to help someone because I don't want to get sued if they screw up.

Backing is probably one of the easiest skills to learn....IF you have a competent teacher. However, in a lot of cases, its more or less a matter of the blind leading the blind. When the "trainer" hasn't yet figured out how to back the dern rig up, how the hell is he supposed to teach somebody else? In any case, 2 weeks in reverse is overkill. If it takes you that long to "teach" someone how to back up, either they don't belong in a truck or you shouldn't be a trainer. Hell, I was only on my trainer's truck for 3 weeks...driving a truck really isn't all THAT difficult. -
Your comment may be true about some or many company drivers, but that still does not give you the right to ASSUME it of everyone.
I am a company driver and I do all I can to save my company money. Like fixing what I am able instead of just bringing the smallest problem to a shop, like a headlight out. Taking time out of my driving day, or even some of a day off, to get a trailer to a repair shop instead of calling expensive road breakdown.
I am a team player and my team has been good to me so far.

backing skill is not whats most important its knowing how to get the information across to the student.

"I didn't teach you to do that."
That was said to another student of course, not me.. To the best of my recollection your honor!
