    and after re-reading your posts, scottie you do realize these companies are already writing off diesel costs, so why do they harass drivers ??

    you did deduct your fuel costs did you not?

    It does if he's claiming APU fuel. That would fall under what's included in the lodging portion of per diem - power and climate control for his 'hotel room'.

    The per diem that the trucker gets at 59.00 per day has nothing to do with lodging. It is only for meals.

    Very well spotted.
    If you check the IRS policy on idle reduction devices. It will elaborate a bit more and it mentions their fuel policy.
