No DOT, California Department of Highway Patrol. No inspection either. He just pulled me over for being one lane too far to the left, or "out of lane". Do I submit/report this to my carrier, or is that unnecessary?
EDIT: I drive for Western Express but am unsure on their policy for written warnings.
Written warning from Highway Patrol, will it effect my record?

Written warning goes right in the trash. "Warning" is the key word there, don't say anything.
austinmike Thanks this. -
It will show up on your psp as well as the companies record. Be honest with your company.
Just passing by and Dockbumper Thank this. -

There is one warning I always counsel a driver to be mindful of. This is when a DOT officer issues one alongside a SMS Inspection report with violations. A lot of officers do this. Most write actual tickets, but some also write a warning! If my memory serves there is a space on the inspection report where any state-issued citation/warning if issued goes. I only bring this up because some people misunderstand 383.31! A warning is NOT a charge or a conviction! Its ONLY convictions that require a driver to make that employer notification.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all of you!

If they’re getting an inspection report with violations it has to be turned in to the company so they’re going to be aware of any warnings that are on there anyway.

That was my point! This was why I just said be mindful of. Other than turn the inspection in there is not much else a driver can do.
