They should have given you 4 straps when you finished orientation. I do everything I can to keep my straps. If I get a trailer with other straps, I keep them as well, so if I have to strap a trailer that's gonna be dropped somewhere I don't run short. Next time you get to a terminal, ask for a few. Missoula has them in the shop office in a big trash can, just ask Bobbie for a few...
And at AB in Ft. Collins, you can also get 2 load locks from the place you get the trailer washed out at. Just tell the shop you need to buy a couple and then keep them when you deliver. I kept them strapped to the catwalk. Although this may have change and they want straps now....I haven't been there since August.

im at ab a bunch and i still see people using bars.

it does seem like they are getting more strict...i was there 2 weeks ago on xmas eve, maybe it was just the people working the guy at the gate made it clear he didnt want to be there, never seen him before. they made me go sweep out the trailer, wasnt really even dirty. some dust maybe. but i have been out of there a couple times with only 1 strap on and they didnt say anything. not gonna lie it was laziness i could have put on another if they had asked, but they didnt.

Hey, still here in Albany Or. Waiting on a part for my truck that is in the shop, im in a Econolodge acrossed the street from the shop, I got a call from another driver asking me about him getting my trailer and paperwork so he can go on down, I called dispatch on Saturday after I found out I was going to be a few days in the shop to see if they wanted me to put the trailer some place where another drivercould come and get it, dispatch said "No it is tires it isn't a HOT load" so now it is locked inside the gates of the shop. I guess he can wait till Monday and take it... my parts are not getting here till Monday night about 2100.. so it will be Tuesday before I'm rolling again.

I'm at a pilot in Dunnigan, CA, closest place I could find to park to Sacramento...ALL the TSs in SAC were PACKED...Delivery is 1st thing in morning then off for another!...

Drove over Donner pass today, thankfully in good weather...Although it doesn't have any real steep parts, it's about 40 miles of downgrade which in bad weather must take 1/2 a day...I left it in 9th gear with max jake and it kept me at 55 with a full load, didn't have to hit my brakes until I came up on a SWIFTy doing 35...I was expecting a seriously steep downgrade for some reason...I thought the pass to Telluride was much worse as there weren't any straight parts on it and very steep...Plus I did that one at night which really sucked...

Only a week away from the end of the month for the Xmas bonus program, they need to start routing me east soon!...
