Well I am still sitting in a motel room in Nashville Tn. I went over to the Cummins shop where the truck is, I went in they took me to the truck, They had the hood, front bumper the wheel well covers the whole front of the engine the valve cover the turbo the alt. it is stripped down, they pulled the head and found it dropped a valve and there is damage in all 6 of the cylinders, I didn't drive it very far after I heard the noise, they said it is something that happens every nw and then when the enigine is running, the engine will bounce that valve around all over the place. I don't know what dispatch is going to do with me, I'd like to wait it out, I'm a ways from several terminals. We will see.

sorry to hear that td24, it's never a good thing when your truck strands you when you'd rather be working...

A dropped valve ruined a liner and piston not all 6. Are they saying the liners are showing cavitation? Head work a liner and piston to get it scooting again. However, while they are there see that it gets overhauled..

Dropped a valve? As in the spring and retainer just gave up and let it drop into the cylinder? OMFG!!!! They arent saying that a valve from that cylinder caused damage in all of the cylinders are they?
