I guess I should have been more specific in my post. I was only referring to the furniture side of things. I have never "hand unloaded" or "pallet unloaded" anything except furniture, so kudos to you for landing those loads and making that kind of money on a five stopper. Just curious, how many miles were associated with that trip? I have only finalled in Billings once, so I have never really known what comes out of there. I try to never final in the state of MT, only pass through on my way to WA.

$260.00 for only five drops! WOW!! Can you be specific as to what was in your load, i.e. how many pcs, carpet, mattresses, furniture etc., palletized or hand unload?

...Spending the night at the hook in Beaver, UT.

Some excerpts from the "Red Book:"
    • Max allowed for any one drop is $55 ($5 for the drop and $50 max for unloading).
    • Mattresses: $5 ea drop + .40 cents per mattress hand unloaded.
    • Carpet: $5 ea drop plus + .50 cents for ea pc of cpt and .20 cents for ea pc of pad hand unloaded.
    • Furniture from W/S Conover, $20 per drop.
    " " " " terminal other that Conover:
    >1-5 pcs: $10 (no drop pay)
    >6-37 pcs: $15 (no drop pay)

    >38+ pcs: .40 cents per pc (no drop pay)
    • Pallet jack unloading: $5 ea drop + $1 per pallet wf a max of $10 per drop (or full trailer @ $15 total)
"...but depending on what is in the load it can add up pallets or pieces and such." Can you be SPECIFIC as to how five loads compensated an average of $52 per load? Please forgive me if I am prying too much into anything personal, but at my age I want to make sure that I am fairly compensated for what for me, is alot more work at 65 than it was at 25.
    I had a 300lb roll of sheet vinyl to get off the truck the other day ( stinger was broken for the stores' forklift), and my back still reminds me of the experience! :0{

Thanks for all yours, as well as all the other drivers too, informative posts regarding W/S. I have met many friendly and helpful folks there so far.

I am still not sure how I got that much. It was my first week can't even remember what was on the load. I turned in on my trip envelope with the stops. Maybe being new maybe I screwed up but I know it was good pay and I would not mind dong it again even though I was sore and stiff for 3 days. By the way the amount included miles guess I should have been nore specific but I will never say how much I make since it is my pay. Sorry......

Thanks CAGE for your response. Sounds like the compensation Gods are watching out for ya! Maybe someday I'll be able to make sense of the whole thing.
My two oldest sons live in the Seattle area - Maple Valley - a very beautiful and lush place to live and raise a family. They can walk to Wilderness Lake from each of their homes and the biking/hiking trails are right outside the front door. Unlike being in AZ though, folks don't tan up there---they rust!
Best wishes to you and the family with the relocation options.

My post was sarcastic and not realistic guess it was taken out of context. I will NEVER discuss my pay because it is nobodies business and never will be. I do apologize if people took it literal, you should have contacted me and I would have let you know.

Being new still figuring things out myself. I turn in my trip envelopes, I know some have mistakes I forget stuff here and there. Payroll is awesome and answer questions. But do remember the amount I made was the full trip not just the drops. Sorry for the confusion and the exact amount will never be disclosed since I do not and will not discuss my pay never have and never will. You live in Gilbert? So do I almost in Queen Creek. I am waiting for dispatch now with my next load.
