Can almost see it from here...not! I was in Prudhoe Bay a week ago and stopped by the Carlile terminal and inquired about driving the haul road. They need drivers. It pays about $16 per hour and you get paid by the trip. They give you 16 hours to drive from Prudhoe to Fairbanks (492 miles). I actually drove the top half from Pruhoe to Adigan Pass, which is about 180 miles, in an Expedition. The truckers actually enjoy seeing cops out there. FWIW, the cops only drive that section once a week...if they get around to it. Definitely not much of a law enforcement presence out there - and there are no scales. lol

An isolated highway in the north.....brutal and unforgiving harsh weather conditions during the winter.......a lack of police presence....where DO I sign up??? I think that I can fit the "Must be insane" prerequisite!

By the way Ragety Red had a stroke and was admitted to the hospital. You remember Ragety Red, right? The same one that decided that windshield wipers were absolutely not needed during a blizzard down Eisenhower? Jarred your memory, did I? A total engine replacement is needed. It was quite the experience.....

I'll tell you the excrutiating details later, but I was assigned a new Crimson Ruby Money Maker! Another Volvo....with a Volvo engine....super singles....don't laugh. I'll send you a few pics later on. You'll probably like it.

Good to see that you're still kicking ### in AK!!!
