I'm in Tumwater, WA at a Pilot pulling just under Max Gross heading that way at first light...Glad it's not due until Monday...I was planning on getting to the Phoenix terminal and seeing if I could get a local load in the interim, we'll see now...I too will drive as slow as needed to just keep moving forward if at all possible...Will have to check on those conditions before rolling out tomorrow...

are both you guys going 1-5 all the way down? its looking better down here, northern ca, but it looks like they still have chain stuff on the border. as of 630am. might be good by this afternoon, check the weather. even so in daylight it will be a million times better. other than that one spot i dont think theres anything else to worry about.

My friend just went thru there earlier today. Chains were mandatory. He found an old indy guy, sz follow me. Don't go faster than me but follow me. Forget the chains. We can do it. They did it together. I'm stuck at Pilot in Laramie, WY. High wind advisory and blowing snow all night, plus snow onight and morning, PLUS 8-10 inches in SLC to boot. Loads going to be late but I am not going to play super trucker tomorrow. 6 hours away and 7.5 hours to drive. She wont get done if they are correct about the weather. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ME!!!!:biggrin_25513:

This place is filling up faster than all you can eat prime rib night at a strip joint.

Idaho Falls at a little T/S. Had a very scary trip down I-15, ice, high winds, and a light load (13K) do not a good combination make. Still don't know how I saved it. Gust of wind hit me, sent truck completely sideways at around 45-50 mph. Got off the throttle, stayed off the brakes, and just counter-steered until it slowed down enough to straighten out and stop whipping back and forth. Happened about 30 miles North of Idaho Falls. A definite pucker checker to say the least.

Thank GOD I bought my own CB. Driver sez that it is bad up here and my lil 12000 lbs will be the a blip on the radar to these winds until the advisory is lifted. Checked 511 on my cell. They have no time to lift the alert. Gonna wait ill morning and see what they say before I move. My fiancee says she doesnt want the insurance money just yet so I will stay put. I will organize my chains and practice puting them on in the morning. I feel froggy.
