is it that cold there?? holy crap. i made it to glenwood springs co. i could be home for new years if it wasnt for weather and the horrible traffic leaving LA. bad roads started way earlier than i thought, on i15. few cars in the ditches. most of i70 was good except at the start and of course in colorado. and you know it, chain law is going so i parked. ill probably have to chain tomorrow but with no weight i guess it doesnt even bother me too much.
oh and temp up here tonight, -17! no beer or coke but im idling so i dont freeze lmao

Phoenix, AZ, suppose to get into the 20's overnight but back to the 50's tomorrow!...I'm here all weekend, for better or worse...I'm due for an oil change in 300 miles so I'm hoping they send me to Conover for the 2000+ mile trip!!!...Plus I need a windshield and new headlights...

Sitting in Helena after the day from hell! Got stuck at the Pier 1, narrow dock, inclined down, 2-3 inches of snow on top of ice. Got some chains on but just spun. Called the shop and they ran over with the sand truck and pulled me out. Have a preplan here, hooked to the trailer....front marker lights out. There were a couple of guys in the shop so they jumped on it and got those working. For some reason my dome and courtesy lights decided they didn't want to work so Mike spent a lot of time trying to find the problem. Was getting late so we decided to worry about it later. Wouldn't you know it...start the rig and everything started working...glad today is over!
Heading to Colorado in the am, Happy New Year and be safe out there guys. -
colorado has snow and below zero temperatures for new year's eve, so make sure you have enough chains. colorado requires 4 drive tires chained up when the chain law is out, and the fines. are. brutal. if you don't chain up when you're supposed to.
east bound on i70 through colorado can easily suck during the winter since the east bound side has two very steep grades at vail pass and the tunnels. -
which chain, a super single? you dont have to chain trailers or anything out here. it was sounding like overall the weather would be moving east but they just dont like to ever properly plow that pass in a timely manner. i still dont even know how you know if you have to chain all 4 drives, last time i only did because it seemed like everyone else was. in cali on the radio it will tell you what level it is and here i can never figure it out. chain 3 and if anyone stops you say one broke? they do have cops lurking around but they are usually busy with the cars in the ditch when its messy hahaha
