Anybody got any idea where I can get a good deal on a pair of new headlights for an 04 Volvo? Best price I can find is 283 a side, I'd like to get a little better deal then that.

I seen a guy selling them on ebay alot cheaper.
-
I looked, he must of sold them. Sorry. I'll look some more.
-
ya i saw the guy who had them for like 400 bucks the other day. I had driven all day and night straight thru and was beat when i saw them, and figured id buy em later. now they're gone. oh well. Thanks!

Are yours broken or are the lenses just fogged?
The outside of the lenses can be buffed out with good results.
The inside is more of an issue. They can be taken apart, but it is a pain. And you have to be careful when resealing them.
The issue with the inside is that the seals start to leak and junk coats the lenses till they are not close to clear.
Both things help allot though, and are much cheaper than replacement. -
i tried buffing the outside and it didnt help. I then replaced the bulbs with an hid setup that helped a lot. it still isnt where i want it and i can see the light hitting the lens and bouncing back. I figured a new set would be the best bet. I thought about trying to tear them apart and see what i could do, in the mean time i was seeing what was on here. those ones that are for sale eerywhere online are from class8truck parts, about an hour from my house. they wont budge on the price, even for 2. I'm kicking myself for not buying the set i saw on ebay....if i wasnt so tired when i saw them and had been thinking clearly i woulda grabbed em in a second.

You said buffing? Not sure what you did, but Advance Auto Parts and I'm sure AutoZone sell a Permatex headlight restore kit that works great. It's by the silicone.
I used it once and it took out all the yellow and made the lenses clear again.
The first step is water and a fine grit paper. The second step is with a finer grit paste and water. -
yeah thats what i meant, my kit was from auto zone. didnt do a bit of good which makes me think its pry on the inside, because i know a few people who swear by that stuff. I just see the guys driving volvos with clear headlights and it gets me jealous. I couldn't imagine being able to actually see where im driving at night!

Isn't 04 the change over year? I had an 04 and it was the older model which I liked. Seems like the newer model come out in 04??

Start calling around to different dealerships.
The cheapest I found them is $248 at Worldwide Equipment.
One thing I've noticed is that dealer prices range significally. Last Saturday I needed some parts.... So I started calling dealerships along my route.... I was in PA & was calling dealers in OK, AZ, & NM even.
Ashland, OH were the cheapest for that part I needed ($78.00 versus $85, $95, & some over $100) so they got my bisuness as I rolled in 5 minutes before closing time.
