I cut up my Wyndham Rewards card when they stopped giving NRA members a discount. Their hotels really aren't very good anyway.

So basically every company driver out there should immediately turn all fuel reward cards over to their carrier? I guess company drivers should also be knocked off their high horses & made to pay for their own showers as well???

    Are they taking the showers?
I pay for our employees lodging when out of town, as well as per diem, and I receive the reward points. You think I am being cheap with my employees?

I'm not as old as the old basstrd that you think I am but I do remember when there were no points and you got a free shower(if they were offered) by showing your fuel receipt.

Mine isn't a flawed logic like you think it is. It's the ideology of a former generation. I was raised without an entitlement or privileged mentality. You were entitled to what you earned and paid for.
I don't cry when there isn't free WiFi. I don't cry when truck stops want to charge for parking. I don't cry when Wal-Mart or other stores won't let trucks park on THEIR property. Why? Because I'm not entitled to something that isn't mine.

The ones that are guilty of their "white privilege" tend to be seeking the most entitlements.

If the company wants to keep the points that they paid for,let them. There are plenty of dollar stores around. I'll even continue to pay for my own showers like I have been doing. Why? Because I hate being skank and I want to present a positive image to the public.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

I have read some of these comments. It has been a while since I used a hotel loyalty card so I forgot this. These hotel company's really don't give points by the stay the way some think, They give points based on how much you paid for the room. Also I will repeat it is not the Hotel parent company that awards these points, it is the local hotel, some owners will not award points for already discounted rooms. The more you pay for a room the quicker you get the items. They also have a shelf life. I was looking at one of my accounts several months ago and discovered all of mine with them had expired and my balance was zero. I am also with @Pedigreed Bulldog with this recent action severing ties with the NRA. I think Best Western did this as well. Because I rarely travel these days all my cards are useless anyway.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

If you know where your going to be call and ask.

Our guys are members of 3 or 4 programs cause we never know when we will have to park it.

We are able to keep the points/ perks which is a nice benefit

Personally I try and use Best Western and Holiday Inn (IHG) as much as possible because their points system seems more user friendly. I have Choice and Wyndham but use them only as last resort.
