I got a Pass in Loveland and the first WYO scale was closed. They'll probably hit me up when I'm on my way back south tomorrow, assuming the weather holds.

The last time in Sheridan the officer guessed my load and was right. He told me what our trucks going in the opposite direction were hauling, and I grinned and told him he nailed it. But in reality, it was a crap shoot we haul a lot more variety than he seemed to know of from their paperwork inspections. lol. -
At the time, I was working for a company that was using drivewyze. So could I have skipped the 2nd two scales? -
Just run it..
They aren't coming out after you.
That whole POE thing is an overrated waste of time..TheLoadOut, nredfor88 and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
TheLoadOut and Tall Mike Thank this.

Wyoming has always been a “Freepass” state in my book except the one on 287 at Laramie and the one at Sheridan. Never been chased, never been hassled about not stopping when I would stop at the two listed. Only reason I’d stop at Sheridan was because I had cattle on, would probably run that one too with general freight.

Usually when I go thru on I-80 or I-90 they just ask to see the registration and sometimes ask where the load is headed(usually to California) and they’re done with me(5 minutes or less). Last time I went through the Evanston port of entry the officer was ready to put the driver before me OOS because he didn’t have his registration or insurance cards!!!
His Eastern European accent didn’t help him either.

Drivewyze just went online for us December 1st. I just got to bypass the St. Croix scales in Minnesota for the first time while they were open while a bunch of trucks had to get in line for the scale.
I can’t remember the last time I grinned so much to bypass a Minnesota scalehouse...TheLoadOut, snowwy and Dale thompson Thank this. -
As to whether or not Wyo. will chase you down, depends on the mood, there's also a lot of signage that's confusing and odd regarding Wyoming scales. Also, pay attention to the lights at I-25 and I 80 scales. Even if you get a red light on Pre-pass, many times you can just roll through, there's also the scale lights to indicate whether you need to weigh or just paperwork, if the arrow tells you to weigh and you ignore it, good chance you'll get chased down. But, right next to the scale building is a little sign with flashing lights "WHEN FLASHING, VECHILES NOT NEEDING PERMITS MAY EXIT SCALE WITHOUT STOPPING". I find it simply amazing the number of drivers who don't pay attention to signs.
Also, if you stop at the scale at Cheyenne NB or 80 WB and head up I 25, you don't have to stop at Casper unless you exit I-25 on 20/26, BUT, you do have to stop at Sheridan unless you get a green light. Also, the Torrington scale is a bit confusing, if you are NB, you must stop at the scale, if you are SB, it's optional that you stop, unless you loaded in Wyo. and didn't stop at a different scale. Also, the scale at Lusk, SB Hwy 85, and all trucks turning onto US 18 must stop at the port, trucks going NB on 85 and not turning, it's optional that you stop.
Sundance likes to turn their Pre-pass off and have a party, the most confusing scale is Gillette, and depending on the mood of the locals, they will chase you down and escort you to the scale if you come in off 59.Last edited: Dec 12, 2020

Having both PrePass & Drivewyze there's been a few times I've had conflicting signals, one green the other red, or pull in, as long as I get a green from either one of them I'm gone!
