Wyoming DOT warns of reduced lanes, lower speed limit on I-80

CHEYENNE, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Transportation is warning holiday travelers (and truckers) to expect reduced speeds and rough road conditions on Interstate 80. Eastbound I-80 will be reduced to a single lane for a two-mile stretch between Walcott Junction and Elk Mountain over the weekend.

Pavement deterioration in the eastbound driving lane has resulted in all traffic being diverted to the eastbound passing lane. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph between mileposts 248 and 250. The highway department says it's possible that speeds will be reduced even more and says motorists should watch message signs for more information.

I never go around that #### Elk Mountain, especially in the winter. Take old US30 through Medicine Bow, good food next to the Virginian Hotel and its a pretty drive.
