I have a persistent yet intermittent leak from the rubber EGR hose on my X15. Is it possible there can be unburnt fuel or oil or even moisture in that system or is it certainly coolant from the EGR cooler? And is there any tests or way to determine exactly what kind of fluid that is leaking. I clean it off regularly so it doesn't look too bad in the picture but underneath you can see its leaking. Ive had my EGR cooler checked quickly by Cummins by popping off that clamp and looking inside the cooler and they said it was dry but it could be a small leak that evaporates maybe and only leaks while I drive.

Possibly condensation leaking when cold. I would start by replacing the orange step down boot and clamps with new. The hose clamps on that hose are not factory and are just radiator hose clamps and are not rated for the pressure.

Get the Cummins hose and clamps. You’ll see what I mean when you get the new correct clamps.

Bottom of pic 3 looks like engine oil. Coolant is red, green, yellow, orange, not black. Could be turbo seal(s) which should have been checked when they replaced the turbo actuator.

Yeah but mixed with exhaust gas at those temperatures the coolant could be turned black also. Going to have it tested at Peterbilt today

Oh I didn't know those clamps weren't factory. I'll be at Peterbilt today and will ask for the proper ones thanks!

You were right it was oil but it was coming from the bolt on top that corner of the valve cover. The exhaust leak from that hose and the fluid everywhere is unrelated cus the oil was dripping onto the EGR pipe from above. Also had the cooler pipe checked again directly after driving it and it was still clean and dry. I had to wash the engine and monitor the leak to discover it wasn't related to that exhaust leak from the EGR hose
