I am currently using the pad antenna that comes with the unit, it does fine until I have a shelf of trees or mountains on the side of the road. Would the foot long rod with the mushroom top work better or is it not worth the extra $$$?
Thanks for your input

The 2nd one is what I use and got a small gator clip from a home improvement store, since I don't own the truck, then mount it on the wind visor in the center top of the truck. the route the cable though the passenger door then into the Onxy dash mount. -
i have this truck antenna It works great coast to coast. kind of hard to find but t/a or petro would be a good place to start

The first one. It's mounted to a brace on the passenger side mirror. I didn't think it would make that much difference, in fact I got a couple of drivers on here that said they didn't have any trouble with the pad type. I think I will be purchasing something different in the near future.
Thanks for the input -
eBay has the good ones for $29 with free shipping. That's where I got mine and it works perfect.
