What does he have to do, drill holes through the cab to mount it?
-
On the passenger side door, he may or may not have a "Look Down" mirror. Even if he doesn't, there should be 2 threaded openings he can use a perch mount with an L-base mounting plate attached to it and affix the stock xm antenna to the top of it.

I've "stuck" the small pucks on the top of the driver side mirror with a quality 2-sided tape (3M) and it worked reasonably well. You can run the coax in behind the mirror and cable tie it along the mirror arm and into the door jamb.
The idea is, if you can't mount it on top of the cab at the highest point, mount it as far away from the cab and as high as possible. Every inch counts the farther east and north you go.lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
WORKMAN CAC1 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA BIRD PERCH CB ANTENNA MOUNT
If you google this you'll find where to buy it...I use two one on each mirror for both the cb antenna's and the Sirius antenna on the passenger side mirror too.
I purchased mine off E-bay $23.95 each-Free shipping...Hope this helps !Edmund Thanks this. -
To use that mirror/bolt , that perch needs to be specific to that location. that spot mirror is a smaller size bolt than say the side mirror bolts. so they make two different perches for the cascadia.
Look at walcott cb . runs cheaper than the above post. good experience with this site. quick ship/receive as well. 15.95 w/ shipping it runs at 20 and change. -
Buy a extension pole used for painting. Mount antenna to it
run cable. Put behind cab either wedge it between cab
and side skirt or use cable ties. Extend rod so top of antenna is clear
cab. Will be easy to remove and you have no more
signal fade.
