I mean, what are "ramp moves"? -

So, exports pay better than imports???? or ramp moves in the case of '53's............
I'll have to keep an eye on that....and see....
Honestly, last couple of years what I've seen:
International's(20', 40', 45') pay better than domestics (53'). They're more work (chassis splits and such) but they pay substantially better...
Rates are not the same from company to company....Yan Ming, ZIM, CMA, Hyundai, CSX, JB Hunt, Schneider...they are all paying different rates...and the drayage companies....don't even get me started on that topic....Last edited: Nov 17, 2016
Dominick253 and Max Torq Thank this. -
Domestic and export are completely different animals. Domestic will almost always pay less.

Ramp moves are where the steamship line is paid to get the container to the railyard, then the cargo owner takes it from there. So the trucking company either deals with a freight forwarder, or the customer directly.
Door moves are when the steamship line handles the move from door to door.
I spent a year in customer service back in 98 at Pacer, helped me learn some insights.Dominick253 Thanks this.
