Man, you'll have good weeks and bad weeks....mostly seasons. Right now and up until thanksgiving, you'll work every hour you have available. November to March will be a little slim, but you'll make money.

    $26 × 60 hours = $81120.
$90-100k would be top pay with a lot of miles.

Nice. Thats what I needed to know. Sounds like I can't go wrong either way. Though I think I'm leaning to ABF due to top pay 1 yr instead of 3 yrs. And start at 90% pay, not 77 or 78% which is roughly what XPO is to start. But I've heard their background check process can be a pain and a lot of people get cut, so XPO is definitely a backup I think I can be happy with.

Good luck with however it goes.
Both companies are excellent and you'll do equally well at either.
If LTL were my deal, I'd go to either in a heartbeat.
    Happy trails.

I've heard most new ABF road drivers are running extraboard and staying out all week in hotels for many years before they get a bid run. I couldn't handle that. @jhurle9403 - did they tell you what to expect running for them there?

I would go with ABF for the long run since they have better benefits and are a very old stable company. I worked for XPO and I wouldn’t reccomend them as anyone’s first choice over some other LTL’s since most everyone is hiring nowadays. If you can get on a bid run right away at ABF your set.

Man that Cartersville XPO barn is small as hell, that would worry be a little. I use to deliver once a week to the 3m place next door back when it was Conway. This is the joint on Smiley Ingram , right?

That's been my general impression of XPO. Between XPO and YRC, they both appear like unstable companies for different reasons. At least XPO doesn't take a percentage out of your paycheck for "financial help" like YRC - that still going on? That whole deal is ridiculous.

LtlAnonymous and Bob Dobalina Thank this.
