The walk is an amazing feeling. It felt so good I became addicted to it. Thus resulting in much longer applications. But it was worth it.

Most of your problems can be solved by shutting off the ringer and not answering. Been doing it for years.

Layover and detention should be paid by your company. Let them fight with the broker for reimbursement.

Tracking software on the phone, yah right, tell them it's a flip phone.

Only call the broker if you need something, everything else is dispatch's problem.

Find a better job. It's that simple. I've been driving a minute or two, and never have had to deal with such nonsense.

LOL! I actually like talking to TQL's folks. Every single one of them sound as if they took a huge bong rip just before they call or answer. Stoners are soooo easy to mess with. Helps kill time. That being said, they still suck.

Well... I do shut off the ringer when I sleep. Daytime? Why would I do that?

    1. Ours is a relatively new company. Two years old. They're still afraid of the brokers, which the brokerages have picked up on. My current dispatcher used to be a broker-agent, so I think he still has some sympathy for his new enemy. Face it. Most companies (no matter what they SAY) never pay out such things without knowing the broker is doing so first.

    2. Ya know, if I could be confident that my nice, polite, and totally honest dispatcher could pull off that lie, I'd ask him to tell them that.

3, Even if dispatch tells me to, I will never, ever perform such self harm as initiating a call to a broker.

Sure! I'll just quit a job over this and eventually make myself unemployable. Right. Excellent advice!

I am about to backdoor macropoint. I will let you know how that goes. I have a very good idea how to end some of this nonsense with the brokers. But one of those things that will take unity. Some will join, others wont. Slime balls will think they get an extra 5 cent a mile to take a load you or I wouldn't take. End up taking 5 cent less a mile and smile about it like donkeys they are. I too hate their stupid check calls. TQL especially, if I have your stupid app going there is no need for you to call. Your spying app is pinging my location every few minutes, at my expense. They can say it is required you use your phone and download this and that, TCPA says something different, though. Or that is my contention.

I like the job and my company so far, and this is the one subject that's most irritating. I'm not just gonna quit over this or threaten to. I kinda like being employable, ya know? Thing is, my current dispatcher is a nice, polite, truthful young man. That's not sarcasm. He really is all that. He also came from a brokerage less than a year ago and knows their games. I think that's why he's not doing that anymore. If it was my place to do so, I would tell BROKERS what you just advised with some obvious changes. But, it isn't my place. My company is new - 2 years old - and everyone there except the owner is kinda new at this. Right now they're skittish. I'm not the only driver working on that, but it will take some time.

In the meantime, we all get to experience the brokerage's arrogance and disregard for reality. Yes, I know that's a fact of life, but things CAN be done to begin curbing that at a local level. As you know, we drivers are usually grumpy when dealing with unnecessary paper-pusher idiocy. Even though our chief owner came from USX, I think he may not know there are other ways to haul freight than having to deal 100% with ripoff artists and used car salesmen in training. Having one's own contracts and sprinkling a few trailers, for one example. Use brokers for backhauls back to the next contract load (or for drivers who insist on being through the house every two or three days).

I'm not afraid to take a stand. I'm not afraid to be fired, if it comes down to that. But, I do know my place and refuse to overstep. I'd much rather work on the company growing a pair in regards to broker shenanigans.

There's only one reason why I refuse that app. It asks for access to contacts and media. Say no to that, it will not work. Why would they need that? He!! no!
