What's a Yahoo Slurp Spider? There's tons of them when you look in the who's online section. My guess it is some sort of spammish-automatron-search gizmothing.

Yahoo Slurp Spyder is an "Indexing" bot owned by Yahoo.
They "crawl" the web and index web pages for search optimization.

RoadKill is right. Yahoo is VERY inefficient at crawling websites and indexing them. Google usually has ONE, MSN usually has 2 or 3...Yahoo Slurp can have hundreds and STILL not get their index right as they have HORRIBLE results to be sure. I've actually thought about blocking them off at times, sigh.

    Nothing wrong with that.....
unless they get too drunk to crawl.
All I have to say about that is, (speaking from experience) you have to REALLY be drunk if you can't crawl.

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling it was something along those lines.

Just another example of how modern technology can make it easier for Big Brother to watch out for our safety and security without our ever knowing it. At least it's only Yahell.

    Tin-foil hat too tight?
It has nothing to do with "safety" or "security", it has ONLY to do with indexing, optimization and categorization the web for searches.
