This is exactly what I'm talking about. All that stuff you mentioned, a company driver has to put up with, and for whose gain? You're basically eating someone else's crap to make them money because the compensation usually doesn't make up for it. No wonder so many folks only last about 6 months in the seat. I probably would've been one of them except (1) I'm one of those nutjobs who actually likes driving; and (2) I have plans for the future - I don't intend on spending the rest of my life as a "kept man".

I'm too much of an independent cuss to make a good employee. I go where I want to go, when I want to go. I take way more time off in a year than most trucking companies would allow a driver to take. I would throw a camera out the window if someone pointed one at me. I'm very good at what I do and I do it my own way. Customers love me...people trying to control me....not so much.
