Thanks so much to everyone here for all of their great advice and caring support! I took my final test yesterday (pre trip inspection, backing skills, road test) and did really well. My pretrip was perfect, and mainly because I created flash cards that had all of the truck parts and what to check them for. I was really smooth and I actually feel like I know what I am talking about now! I am proud of my smooth shifting, even the instructor comments on how smooth I can shift all of the time. Mainly because I drove a stick shift for 14 years as my first vehicle, so I knew I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Before I began trucking a lot of people said that a stick shift in a truck is so different, but I still say that it is just like a 4 wheeler. I double clutched and the only difference is that you are using the clutch more and revving up on downshifts, that's all. Anyway, I have to return in a couple of days after the weekend to get my CDL from the DMV, hopefully they won't give me #### again about not having all of the paperwork even though I have tons of documents showing my whole life story, taxes, where I live, etc.

I should graduate within six days. I may not tell you guys which companies I am interested in since it seems that every trucking company gets bashed here lol. I don't want to be discouraged as I am still happy and excited. Thanks again!

Congratulations, and doesn't matter what we think of a company it's what you decide. Don't let anyone make a decision for you. GoodLuck and Merry Christmas

Congrats on passing and best of luck. I also passed mine a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to work for a smaller company that a relative of mine has worked at for the past 10 years and still enjoys working there. I start with a mentor in two days :biggrin_255:
