    good day

all gauges on my 9400 died.all but the air.i have been told that there should be a black box behind the dash that could be faulty but the tech was not sure if my 2000 model had such a box.also i found a fuse blown that said data link but upon replacing still had same problem.

before i go digging can anyone shed light please?

    Regards

problem now is intermittent, after i had it at an auto electrician they could not find any fault, was looking for loose earth etc, removed the gauge clusters could find no fault.so far its been running good for a few hours.it was a very hot day today and the aircon compressor is shot.so could be the heat.

A friend just went thru that and it was the circuit board on the cluster. they said they had a problem with them and it was common.

You can buy the bare cluster with the circuit and transfer your lamps and guages from the old cluster into the new one.

    eagle9400 Thanks this.

problem went away on that very day and never came back.i must add that on this day it was extremely hot in South Africa and the airconditioner which normally maintains the cab at a reasonable temp,is not working, waiting on a new compressor.also i just want to ask,i recently had the Bendix tu flo 750 air compressor overhauled,i am not too happy with the end result and am thinking of getting a new one.

just out of curiosity, why was a double barrel compressor fitted to this truck,i am not sure that all 9400 eagles with N14 celect plus engines were built this way,my one is a 72" hi rise pro sleeper built at Hamilton Ontario.

i was told by the local cummins office that i could fit a single barrel as most of the 9800 models of which there are plenty of are fitted with the single and they do sell a kit to convert from double to single.

i on the other hand like things to be left original.

    thanks
    Regards
