IIRC Prime official hire date for you is right after you get your CDL before you head out on the TNT phase. Use that hire date as your 1 year countdown mark.

Companies almost always mean 1 year in your solo truck.
dave01282000 Thanks this. -
Don't even mention the TNT phase of your driving at Prime. If asked and on application just state that you were hired on X date. During Primes TNT phase you are a team driver they are exploiting anyways so it's not lying in the slightest.
ducnut, dave01282000 and Chinatown Thank this. -
So I figured out I probably need to get off of the OTR schedule sooner rather than later. Finding the 4 days home is much more stressful than being on the road with having to see girlfriend/family, house upkeep, appointments etc. Home at least every weekend would probably be much better.
I can call it a year on the Prime payroll in early February so I think I'm probably going to jump at that point. Seems like I have so many options to consider. A couple things to put out there:
-LTL seems like a good local/regional gig but I know very little about it and need to do more homework. Any help here on some reading to do, or someone to ask questions would be appreciated for a guy who only knows OTR reefer at this point?
-People have mentioned "dedicated", is that something that can be regional and get home every weekend? I like doing reefer and finding I especially like going back to the same customers because I become a familiar face and I can be more efficient when I know the routes/parking/check-in right off the bat.
As always, appreciate the help! This place is such a wealth of information.
Happy New Year

Refrigerated trucking.
Can eventually make over $100Gdave01282000 Thanks this. -
Years ago I drove for First Fleet for awhile and they have some refrigerated trailers.
FirstFleet Auburn, ME provides dedicated delivery of bakery goods within a 250-mile radius of Auburn, ME.
Maybe bakery goods are refrigerated, I don't know for sure.
Found this photo of a FirstFleet reefer trailer.

Thanks so much for your info as always, Chinatown. I am definitely going to look into your suggestion for ADUSA who hauls for Hannaford. Also Hood from #29 above and Oakhurst (another dairy outfit in Portland).
I've heard that I better start working out If I want to take a Sysco job...I'm now 47 and hardly in the same shape I was before retiring from the service. It's 100% on me, but the past year OTR hasn't been the best on my waistline. Driver unload could actually be beneficial if I don't do something stupid and get myself hurt!
