As Of Now I Am Good To Go W Navajo, West Side Transport, TMC and Willis Shaw Express... I Keep Seeing Figures Of 3-4 Hundred After Tax For First Year Drivers Per Week. I Make More Than That Now. I need 550 A Week 2 Out Of 4 During The Month To Be Worth My Time. If Of Course I'm Willing To Walk The HOS Line And Volunteer Rather Than Piss around At TA.. What's A Realistic Figure Per Week For A Rookie And W What CO Would I Have The Best Shot Money Wise?

From those you listed, I would pick TMC first & Navajo 2nd.
Don't overlook Melton Truck Lines; they hire newbies & have $40.00 tarp pay. Melton Truck Lines would be my first choice. My 2nd choice would be System Transport.
Also, think about getting your tanker/hazmat endorsements for the $65K + per year jobs. Quality Carriers hires new drivers for those jobs and several other companies do also. One driver just posted that new CDL drivers at Superior-Carriers take home $800 - $1000 per week.
I made avg. $65K per year doing OTR tanker/hazmat.Last edited: May 12, 2013

An excellent Driver Trainer can make or break you as a newbie. The truck driving school show how to pass the test so you receive your CDL. A Driver Trainer teaches how to make the money with your CDL.

When I train a new driver I work with them to perfect their skills sure. But tell them I'm here to show how to make a living and how to live out on the road. Every driver I trained had never been out on the road before in their and only a handful of them even knew someone who was an OTR truck driver. Its a enormous culture shock for all of them. OTR truck driving is a very emotional and physical tough job beyond your wildest imagination. It is rated as one the top 10 most dangerous jobs in America every year. It has one of highest divorce rate of all the occupations in the country. It has one of the highest suicide rates of any occupation. You confined to a small space for long periods time and at best you are only home on the weekends making very hard to maintain relationships with family and friends. If your lucky you will work OTR for 2 years and find a nice local driving job that pay well and allows you to be home every night and have weekends off too.
T-Train-Swain, 379exhd, slomocopshow and 1 other person Thank this.
