I signed up to travel and Yellow is sending me to Las Vegas for potentially 2 months (2 week minimum but with the option to extend). I’ve never driven out there but I’m beyond excited. Is anyone familiar with the lanes out there? Specifically the meet and turns locations?
Thank you.
(I started with this company on Monday, I guess they need help kickstarting their super regional “one yellow” vision) , which, I’m pretty excited about. It sounds like from everyone I’ve spoken with they’re mostly concerned with the language of the contract, and not the operational changes. A lot of men/women out of my terminal have been with the company for 20+ years and there aren’t a lot of new drivers.. the majority are drivers with 10+ years of seniority, feeling pretty glad that I applied.
Yellow is sending me to Las Vegas.

Pertty much Central and southern CA , AZ - Phoenix and tucson and such , some to Utah , and a lot around NV espcially reno , Vegas . Talk to some of the drivers you meet , they'll tell you more.
You never did say if you got line haul or cross country gig.
Also if feel like doing Teamster , they used to have a good plan there at yellow -
I am Linehaul!
My terminal though has most drivers running sleepers but a lot of senior drivers have said that they’re hoping they are phased out within a year or two.
Las Vegas I will be running single man but at my home terminal it will most likely be sleeper teams for 3-5 days, at least it’s a good opportunity to meet the other drivers and build report.
Orientation day they placed a Union card in front of me and I filled it out, I guess when my first paycheck is issued it’ll be official that I’m a teamster.homeskillet, Lav-25, ducnut and 3 others Thank this. -

I’m happy for you. That’s a good company, for a long-term career. Stick it out and you’ll have an actual pension to fund you in your retirement years. No matter what, don’t ever get discouraged and quit. The hardest part is getting in the door and that’s over, now.
