If it is any consolation I got fired after five years of driving, along with being awarded a literal olympic style medal from the same company for being driver of the region or something, and it was all for hitting the accelerator while cruise control was engaged, it was one of them company policy things.

If you haven't worked for another company it will be like a whole new world, seriously. Gotta go to a yard? Just pull in and do what you gotta do then leave like an adult... Not go through the 20 step process with every department and finally get some gate pass like a toddler. It's crazy drivers stay there as long as they do.

Like I remember when I jumped ship to another company and didn't like a few things so of course my natural reaction was to go back to what I knew. Then I had a dream a few nights later where I was in a Stevens truck on my break just kicking and screaming. Haven't looked back after that.

Nah I’ve been to other companies. Came back with the idea that I knew what to expect so just plan for it but they really have been pushing me to my limit.
I worked for a small outfit doing garbage 1099 stuff. The pay was awful and the infrastructure non existent but yeah, no ridiculous amounts of paper work and qualcomm work in order to get paid, no having to call 8 different people in different departments to get something done or get add pay they promised me.

yeah, it was get the delivery done and onto the next one. I didn’t even go to their yard until I left and returned the truck. I want that, I deserve that, but I just want to get paid.
Hell, I’m okay with a little bureaucracy even.

I just need a company that pays reasonably, can evaluate whatever that dumb xpress report says and not take it at face value. I just want to drive. Get the load there safely. Come home a couple days a month.

some good input from everyone so far but does anyone know of this dreamy mythical company?

I got lectured from being on a no truck route. From one company.

Funny thing is. I wasn't the only truck on that route.

    The kicker.
The guy knew it was a no truck route because he trucked on that road a million times.

    Wait a minute.

You actually got fired for hitting the go pedal while the cruise control was on? That’s it??

How stupid is that? I do that every day before I get to a hill to cut down on the loss of speed. Otherwise in these garbage new trucks you’ll lose 10 mph before before it downshifts and gives you some extra power.

This is what happens when you put literal psycopaths with fancy suits in charge of your companys. Psycos who likely have never even seen the trucks they manage closer then 50 feet away. God forbid actully have ever had any involvment with them or heven forbid us "unwashed peasents" driving the trucks, then give them free reign to do whatever they want to get more big numbers on a spreadsheet.....actully that question of why do we put that kind of person in charge of things rather then feeding them to a rabid bear with a hate boner applies to many things in life...

    But i digress

Sounds like they are looking for reasons to get rid of you. Time for you to dust off your resume and start looking around.

FWIW, it sounds like you've been there long enough to ALMOST be able to collect those better perks that supposedly come with longevity at any company. The problem is, the better those '5-year perks' look, the less likely it is than anybody actually attains them. It's all for show, because 99.9% never make it to that 5 year anniversary. What they are doing right now is trying to goad you into quitting. If you quit, then they don't have to pay unemployment. If they give you a written warning and you sign it, you've just agreed with them. No, just stick to your guns, and refuse to sign any warnings. If they fire you, at least you have unemployment to help you until you get another job. Chances are they won't. Don't let them play their game on you.

No man. I haven’t been with Stevens exclusively for five years.
Just don’t understand why they’d make me go through like two full days of classes only to figure out I’m fired. What the heck?

See if you can sue them for wrongful termination. Provided their hq state isn't a right to work state.
