There are Amazon Facilities that do this already. When you pull up to the gate there are cameras and a screen, the person you are talking to are located at a call center not on site.

That is always a cost saving option. Most cell phone companies already do that.

how well do these auto braking systems know when the road is slick from snow or ice??

may be a cause of a lot of these winter wrecks?

Adaptive Cruise only works with Cruise Control on, Automatic Breaking only kicks in long past the point you should have been applying your breaks, if either of those system is causing issues it's because the drivers aren't using them correctly and not paying attention to the driving conditions. The basics is it judges speed and distance and if the object in front is at a point where your speed exceeds stopping distance it flashes a light form the dash to the windshield, if the driver doesn't begin to brake, the system will kick in. This isn't a system that dynamites the brakes because someone cut you off and slowed down. Volvo brought over their system they have used in Europe for almost a decade, we have had it kick in once this year on the 50+ trucks we have with it between Volvo and Freightliner, and the video showed the driver ignored the warnings.

I've never heard anyone say "sure glad I had that Bendix system, I wouldn't be here talking to you right now if it wasn't for that Bendix system"...maybe they'd be embarassed to say it, as you say it wasn't made for good drivers, just the current crop of fake cdl holders, who either buy trucks without it or disconnect it entirely. I've just never heard anyone say it was a life saver.

Winner winner you read the whole thing. But seriously i do not like auto braking yaw and pitch systems on icy roads or ramps they scare me. And adaptive cruise control will scare the hell out of you if it brakes suddenly to a stop in traffic. But it does work to a stop. And I remember it keeps the distance between cars a good length. But you can often find yourself going slower than the speed limit due to car ahead of you setting the pace.

With the way you see the vulvas and crapcadias shaking themselves apart were the parts are flapping in the wind you have to figure that can’t be good for the sensors
