I will be attending the Swift Academy in Middleton, Tennessee in Late February. I was just curious if any of you have been through the two week program? Were there any surprises that you found after arriving, that the recruiter failed to mention? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I have read a lot of the horror stories. I don't expect it to be easy, just going to keep a positive attitude and roll with the punches.

The training with a mentor is the worst if u can make it through that u can't do it, basically it's a see if u can cut it stage basically, then if u can make it a year after that I can surely do it first year is the hardest but well worth it if ur a hard runner, good luck

Thanks Scarface. I was thinking about the same thing. Although I'm not looking past the training stuff, I'm not really worried about it. The mentor stage is what I was also thinking would be the real challenge. I guess it goes back to what everyone says "it's luck of the draw". Looking forward to learning but, I will be preparing for the worst.

Make sure you have an original certified birth certificate. If you have had your license renewed within the last year ensure you have a driving record report showing you have had a license more than a year. 3 people got sent home due to this today.

I am at the phoenix academy but it's pretty much the same across the board in regards to training and requirements except ours is 18 days not two weeks. Those are just the problems we ran into the first day. We also had some people who did not have a physical or did not go to an approved clinic and when swift offered their 40$ physical a guy didn't have the money and almost went home, but a fellow student lent it to him. I would seriously go with no less than 200$ in your pocket for DMV fee's, food and incidentals.
