(I couldn't resist - it's my #1 pet peeve) -
Gunner, that Oak Park is a rough neighborhood. I worked down on Stockton BLVD for a couple years doing reconstruct,i got sick one night and went home ,after i left there was a gunfight at the motorcycle club next to Luigi's and a couple dudes died,i was working right in front while they were partying only time i was glad i got sick and went home.

Oh boy, this guys going to be behind the wheel of a truck.

While laughing at the title... it should be noted, that the area I live in, the Philadelphia region... Yo is a perfectly acceptable and often used word.
"Yo, you know what time it is?" Yo, which way do I need to go to hit 95?" "Yo, how much is a cheesesteak"
Not sure where this poster is from, but come on guys... nobody saw Rocky? Yo Adrian!newbietrucker007 and Freightlinerbob Thank this. -

It's an acceptable greeting, sure, but just stupid for a thread title. Moderators should just change it to 'duh'. -
Perfectly acceptable for some folks to use "YO" in their neighborhood when home. Try telling a DOT officer "Yo, I forgot to update my log book".Or at a grocery receiver in the south " Yo, I need a door". At a truckstop in Texas " Yo, anybody got a light?". Get on the CB crossing Montana" Yo, east-bound, you-se guys seen any ba-yars behind you". Does not show much respect. And to get respect, first you give respect.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
