Talked to a couple people about this with mixed feelings. Just curious if any of you guys have done this A/C conversion from a York to a Sanden compressor.

I've been told the Sanden compressor does a better job, but I haven't verified it for myself.

I think it would be more hassle than it’s worth.

If you do put a Sanden on there, make sure it’s genuine—the Chinese knockoffs only last a year or so before they blow up and trash your system.

I’m glad you brought this up. Thinkin bout doin the same thing. I think they make a bracket for the conversion. Not sure about the hoses.

I been searching the net for part# and doing some research. I found a couple places that have the parts. I called and was told the conversion parts would run us $500 to $800 depending on how far you go ( lines, fittings, switches, etc etc..).

Here's one of the sites I found @ShooterK2

It is. It's OEM Sanden compressor and clutch. 500 that's all brackets and conversion manifold and oil/orings.

The bracket on mine is home made now for the York. I think if I do the conversion I’ll just make a bracket and buy a compressor.

I agree. Wouldn't be real hard to fab one up I don't think.

After Browsing around, Shooter I see just the bracket can be had pretty cheap.

Hell, a man could buy one of these and fab it to fit the way he wants and spend a couple hundred on a genuine Sanden compressor and be done with for 200-300 bucks bracket and all maybe.

That’s the one I was thinking of. Seems like you can get em at Oreillys and other parts stores as well.
