Please do not honk in a residential neighborhood no matter what time of the day it is. Not everyone works 9-5, many people work 3rd shift not only in trucking but also in other industries as well. Is it fair to the nurse who works the graveyard shift and goes to sleep at around 8:00am in the morning to get woken up by a semi truck blowing his air horn in a residential area? That nurse on 3rd shift provides a valuable service to society, does she not?
In pretty much any other scenario outside a residential area at that time of the day I would say you're good to blow the air horn. But in a residential neighborhood at ANY time of the day it is NOT acceptable to do so. People provide very valuable services to society by working 3rd shift and sleeping 9:00am - 5:00pm so please do not wake them up if it's not an emergency.
You are in a residential neighborhood at 9:30 AM, getting "Honk" signal from child on sidewalk

The k-whopper dump truck has kind of a gay sounding horn, but I’d still let it fly

Those little kids are carrying on a tradition that's older than any of us. One good honk with the airhorn probably isn't going to disrupt anyone's sleep.God prefers Diesels, stuckinthemud, gokiddogo and 15 others Thank this. -

A couple small toots couldn't hurt, and it makes the kids day.
