I work nights so obviously I sleep during the day. I fully expect to get woken up occasionally by the ups/FedEx guy or other various things. Screaming children barking dogs etc....
And I've learned to deal with that by wearing ear plugs. Sleep all day and rarely hear a thing

My neighbor kid lives just a 1/4 mile away. He hears me fire up the truck and pull out of the shed. As I'm getting up to speed past his house he's #### near always standing outside giving me the honk signal. This has been going on for a year and a half and I never get tired of it

These same people do everyday tasks at odd times and many times wake and bother me because of thier schedule so I just consider it pay back!

Lighten up francis. My wife is the 3rd shift nurse you speak of and we have both worked off shifts over the years. A rare semi air horn is a reprieve over every hick with a v-8 pickup and no mufflers...

Awesome clip with the little girl and the airhorn! My buddy up in da nort woods taught itd be funny to mount a ship fog horn under his deck to scare the ..... out of "friends" when sitting around drinking....

Someone may end up pissed, but as long as that kid is smiling, I’m dumping some air…..

Give it a couple little toots…it’s not going to hurt anyone.
    Funny story about that though.
I was driving through a local small town with an elementary school several years ago right after the kids had got out. Some of the town kids were walking down the sidewalks and asking for a little horn action…so I did what any good driver would do and gave them some. A local Leo was sitting back on a side street and decided that was a good reason to cause me some grief. He turned out and flipped on the bubble gum machine and pulled me over and told me that your not supposed to use your horn for those types of things and asked for the usual documents which really pissed me off. The kids that had asked for the honk were catching up with our little party and one of them who must have known this guy decided to stop at his car to say high or get some free candy or something…i don’t know. Anyway after what seemed like forever the cop and the kid both came back to my truck and the officer explained to me that an elderly neighbor had complained about this horn honking and he was supposed to be looking into it. Apparently this kid was his and must have told him that he wanted me to honk. the officer told me to be sure to keep it down and that he would explain to the neighbor that the trucks were just making sure that the kids knew they were coming through. ( I later found out that said neighbor was rather demented). Then his son who was standing on my steps practically drooling down the side of my door asked me if he could ride to the gas station ( he’s mildly mentally challenged) In my head I was thinking this was a weird setup or something but then I was like wtf why not so I said yes and let him in. I got to the gas station which was at a 4 way stop and helped him get out. Apparently he lived right next to it. the bottom line is this cop and his family is some of my best friends and I never knew they were there. The young kid who is now in junior high sometimes rides with me in the summer and I honk every time it’s requested because it just might make somebody day.

Watching my uncle pull out with his Pete while I was doing the arm pump is the reason I have a CDL today.

    Let them hear it.
