You are on the road, using google maps to see hotels. How to get direct number to some hotel instead of their national reservations center place? They always quote higher prices than just dealing with the hotel front desk.

I think it depends on the hotel. Some you can actually get the front desk. Others you get the corporate desk. I gotta make some reservations next week so I'll see how it goes.
Labrador Thanks this. -
Pretty much every number I get from google seems to be the corporate desk.

I usually just walk in the door, ask for the trucker rate. Generally it’s been a reasonable rate, if it’s too much I leave.
Sometimes the online rates are higher to cover the advertising or commission costs, so walk ins can get a better deal.Flat Earth Trucker and Labrador Thank this. -
Well that is likely what I am doing tomorrow, walking in.

Let’s say you wanna stay at a La Quinta you found on google maps. Go to the official La Quinta website and find the location there which should also display the number. This also works for other types of establishments.
Labrador and gentleroger Thank this. -
I've had luck just booking through Google's advertised rate. Find a low one where I'm going and ask if there's truck parking.
Labrador Thanks this. -
Hotels.com, you can create an account and then earn points for free stays

Google the address, not the name. First though find the complete address by Googling the hotel name and town or street it's on and then get full address, then Google that.

If not on the maps entry, try the url, if not on the url go to the company website and use the finder with the zip from the closest address..
