Leave it to SCOTTY to start controversy with his videos and legal'ese' . . . LoL.
No offense, Scotty, but I sure called you out when you 'misquoted' that lawyer in the "Right Hand Turn" lane thread, and even the FMCSA photo you posted disproved your theory! I'm still with the courtesy should be given to the backer OUT of a spot first. Quest should have had more courtesy; drive around a time or two...or just STAND BACK and stand by! Yeah, I'm sticking up for the 'lil guy.

In the end, Swift had two drivers. I work for a company where they both would have been fired. The driver would be fired for backing up without a ground guide and the other one would be fired for not getting out to ground guide.

Here's the deal though, this video leaves a lot of not seen action.
I if I'm the quest driver the first thing I'm going to do is pause and make sure there is no reverse movement from that swift truck flashers or not before I attempt my move.

But having said that, if that quest truck was sitting were is and I (swift) decided to back out at that time and I don't see that truck and hit it, then not only am I a complete fkn moron I'm also going to get tagged with a preventable.

But again the video doesn't show who was where and allready in motion when all this developed.

    tucker and G13Tomcat Thank this.

^^^^^^ @driverdriver Point taken. I still think that the out-backer deserve courtesy. You ARE correct; many unforseens.

And for all nose in nay sayers there is a perfectly safe way to back out.
Windows down am/fm off cb on.
Backing inch by inch, ya just don't let off the clutch an roll out.
This excludes the idots that nose in in the center of a row and another row of spots behind you.
Nose in obviously should be done only at the end of rows

    scottied67 and G13Tomcat Thank this.
