this is why when i was at NEMF, i'd bid the NJ route, instead of my regular Maybrook, NY route..I-84 ain't exactly pup friendly. then come spring time, i'd re-bid my Maybrook run.

How do they hold up? Are they as good as Pewags?

My posting a link to chains was more for the people who say they can't get around in snow. An aggressive set of triples on all drivers is the key. When I don't see lots of sets of triples hanging on a truck, I wonder why. And singles are only for the steering axle. When a blizzard hits, I just chain up and go to work. A tri drive truck all chained up is like a mountain goat where it will go.

That's right driver. Lockers, 3 railers on all corners a triple on the trailer for a drag. Another day in the Woods.

Pewags hold up better from my experience. For traction the ice breakers are hard to beat.

In Canada the roads are not nearly half as busy as they are in the states during winter.

A bit of thread drift. I think saying it is a right is wrong. It is a DUTY to not operate anytime a driver feels they can't realistically arrive at the destination. The cause could be weather, truck, or issues with the driver's health. To operate in that way in my view is almost criminal.
