If I'm correct, don't some Fred Meyers electronic loads have to be temp controlled as well? Ya we don't need TV's or anything like that. Hell, let's go back to the horse and carriage days, only have to worry about #### where you walk then. Let's trip plan that without going over our HOS.

    Frank Drebin, LOL.

If listening to a reefer run is causing you problems, may want to consider another field. Oh wait, there's going to be trucks running at truck stops!?

I long ago stopped worrying about who I park next to, or who parks next to me. As long as they don't hit my truck coming or going, I couldn't care. If you back into a huge open area, it won't be open in an hour or so anyway. And a fair amount of the time, it'll be someone annoying. Was at the TA in Albert Lea, MN last Friday night. 2 open spots next to me. Reefer backed in crooked, took up both spots, still almost hit me doing it. Stayed that way all night, watching other trucks drive by with no place to park while he used 2 spots. And ran his engine high idle, and reefer all night too. Looked out my window this morning, to see a fat slob in his underpants, standing on his step, peeing all over. 2 feet or so from my window. Pathetic....both examples....but impossible to avoid no matter where or how I park.

OK, while we are on the thread, just curious as I have NEVER pulls a reefer around. Why is it that some ARE loud as hell and others you barely hear?

Is it different manufactures, or is it just that the newer ones are that much quieter or is it some maintenance issue, ie; muffler, exhaust etc.

I guess the same question could also be asked about diesel powered APU, as some just hum along yet other sound like a piston is going to come thru your door any second.

Age, quality of the muffler/exhaust on them, etc. In my experience the "Whisper quiet" ones, when they get older, are the loudest you'll ever find. Also, the insulation on the doors, underside, etc all factor into letting the sound out. Also depends on the product, if it's warm, and the temperature is supposed to be a lot less (like produce straight from a field), you will do a lot of defrosting, which is very loud when it does it.

Actually, with Coors, we are using Dry for them. Nice and quiet, but always heavy.

What kind of an Idiot would ever complain about a reefer? I guess you feel it was better when you had to go out back and kill and butcher your own food. Worry about noise cup cake you need to go sleep at the effing park amongst the Daisies anyway. All that garbage you are hauling should and will someday be put on a train anyway , the sooner the better all of us people actually helping to FEED the country can conduct business and get on down the road.
