I personally, as a reefer guy, have pulled in nose first to many truck stops. Why? Because its the end of my drive time, tired as hell, don want to risk hitting anything while backing so I figure it's be safe to just nose in...not going to lie. But also because the people on the sides of that spot are dry or flatbed drivers. I'll respect them to the best of my ability and keep my reefer as far from their head as possible.
You guys that run reefers,

Nothing wrong with respecting your fellow drivers! I'm sure it doesn't go unappreciated!

Trucking is a noisy industry. I haul reefer. I know the turmoil of sleeping with my reefer off (no load) and then the noisiest reefer on Earth parks next to me and lines his reefer up perfectly with my sleeper vent.
I just shrug it off. I let the steady hum of a reefer on continuous be the sound that lulls me to sleep and makes me deaf to beggars and ladies of the night.
On the other hand, I show respect, IF I can, by avoiding parking my running reefer nearby another non-reefer. Sometimes it's unavoidable, but I will always park away from dry vans when I am able to. If I can't, I will try to find a spot I can nose-in or I will back into a hole where the trucks beside me are nosed-in.
Unfortunately, there are many days where I can do nothing and I'm forced to park right next to a dry van with his windows down. I've never received a complaint and if I see the driver, I let him know I tried to park elsewhere, but if the lot is full, the lot is full.SHC, Everett, Wiseguywireless and 3 others Thank this. -
i also noticed this a lot , but when you nose in first, it slopes toward the rear on some lot's and i can not sleep that way, i feels like i am rolling out the bunk and fight it all the time i'm trying too sleep, i haft too be have a flat spot or some what level spot too sleep in

Well how about a complaint about these late model F-liner/Volvo fleet drivers who have the whistling exhaust and set the idle at 1500 rpms with fan on? It's like parking next to a jet. And as you walk through the lot all the trucks are quiet except you can hear the jet truck way down the row making enough noise for the whole lot.
Everett, Working Class Patriot and SHC Thank this. -

Did you say 'noisy ' or 'nosey' ? -
noisy... full of noise. Loud. Annoying.

I pull into where ever I am going. I crawl into the bunk, Start my APU set the Temp. Close my eyes and everything else ceases to exist. I may smell a Cattle truck next to me and dream about when I was on the farm, I may hear a Reefer and dream that I am in a C135 during my AF days, Or I may be next to a Flat bed with his engine off and Can't sleep at all because it is to quiet.
