They also say any protest about inaccurate info be directed to the fmcsa. No recourse otherwise.

A passing equipment inspection by DOT can be used to satisfy the required annual inspection rule. Good for one year.

So how much brokering do you do? What do you use to cross reference phone/fax/email/address for multiple carrier/brokers using the same?
Enlighten us as to the way "you" prevent double brokering

we don't grab work off of load boards. there is a long list of brokers that can be used and one that drivers are not allowed to use. this has been compiled through the years.

What is the issue with double brokering?

Is it the lack of payment and brokers running off with the money?

That can be solved by the FMCSA but they won't move on a fix, will they?

They need to make people, owners of the brokerage or executives of the company financially responsible for the accounts payable.

Is it a lack of communication with the broker and customer?

That also can be solved by the FMCSA. This is part of the problem we have had in the past, no one can contact the shipper or receiver to solve a problem because the broker never disclosed who actually owned - originate - the load.

But I get the impression owners think that they deserve more than the broker is willing to give, the FMCSA has no business dealing with a disclosure of the amount the broker may get before the service is rendered.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

If you don't understand the problem of double brokering, then maybe you shouldn't comment on things that are done to prevent it.

No government agency can eliminate a carrier taking a load and then giving it to another broker, but 411 has the info that can help prevent it.

Make the owners of the brokerage responsible? Do you know nothing? The original broker does pay, even if they have paid the scam carrier.

    Your statements make no sense.

You would think with the 100's/100's of trucks you have and the vast experience you would know that.

I’d be willing to bet that 99.9% of the time most Loads are originated and paid by the Shipper. Just a wild guess.

I’m starting my own service for weeding out possible double brokering operators. First on list Landstar.
