I stopped at the TA in Prescott, Ar a while back on my way back to the yard. Around 11 pm. There were FedEx ground trucks doing swaps on the fuel island. None of them were buying fuel either. I turned around and left, and got fuel the next day at Loves.
Our company has a couple of card-locks and we started getting calls from our customers about one particular freight outfit using it for a switch yard. We didn't mind that much but when they started just dropping sets of doubles at the pumps it got ridiculous. One phone call was all it took. The TM for the freight outfit actually called me and apologized. He said his drivers liked using our place because it was lighted at night, clean, paved, and had rest rooms. I told him to buy a little fuel once in awhile and all would be forgiven. They've since become one of our better fuel customers and they quit dropping trailers at the pumps.
Companies that use this method are really shortsighted if they don't take care of the host facility. They are already saving a ton of money by not having to rent one, they can usually locate them exactly where they need to be. My manager realized that, clearly @REO6205 did also.
It's just simple logic. We could have just run them off and there would have been hard feelings on both sides. It's easier to try to get along. They buy quite a bit of fuel and I don't get phone calls at two in the morning about their trailers blocking the pumps.
Having briefly made the mistake of driving for 10 Roads I wouldn't be surprised if some of their stuff broke down and was dumped there.
Stopped going to a good little fuel stop because of Fed, Ups and OD using it for a swap lot. No courtesy to the location or others parked there. Actually went in a talked with one of the shift managers about this. Said they rarely bought fuel, only occasionally purchased products from the store, yet took up almost 80 percent of the lot. Have not been back in 2 years at least. Sort of a shame really. Was convenient stop for fuel and a shower.
what I find sad about all this with Christianity so important in America that nobody understands the Golden rule of doing unto other's as they wish upon themselves wonder how FedEx would react if some random company just decided to use there yard for switching trailers?
Sooooooooo you musta got kicked out of Hunts Point now too I'am assuming you got the boot at Southwest Distributing too because it's getting hard to find Hamm's now I'am wondering how long before the state of Ohio has a wanted poster out on you ?
